What side effects can I expect when I take Mounjaro?
Everyone can have a different experience, but these are the most common side effects patients had:
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Decreased appetite
• Vomiting
• Constipation
• Indigestion
• Stomach pain
Talk to one of our pharmacists or doctors if you have any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. Some of the following tips may help if you experience nausea.
Eat smaller meals
Avoid fat or fatty foods
Stop eating when you feel full
Try eating bland foods like toast, crackers, or rice
Mounjaro is usedonce a week
Pick a day.
Take Mounjaro on the same day each week. It may help to
set a reminder on your phone for this day. If you need to change the
day, make sure there are at least 3 days (72 hours) in between doses.
Miss a dose?
You can take the dose within 4 days (96 hours) after the
missed dose. If more than 4 days have passed, skip the missed dose
and take the next dose on the regularly scheduled day.
Do not take 2 doses of Mounjaro within 3 days of each other.
Keep Mounjaro in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F).
Store the pens in their original carton to protect the pen from light.
Do not freeze your Mounjaro Pens.
The pen has glass parts. Handle it carefully. If you drop the pen on a hard surface, do not use it.
Please dispose of your used Mounjaro pens in the designated sharps bin.
What will i be prescribed when I do my e-consult?
Our clinicians will begin your treatment with a 2.5mg dose, administered once a week for the first four weeks. Please note, this initial dose is intended for treatment initiation and is not designed for glycemic control. After this, your dose will be increased to 5mg for a minimum of four weeks. Going forward, our clinicians will collaborate with you to adjust the dose as needed, ensuring we find the optimal dose tailored to your needs.
